Speak Up! will take place in Manhattan on Saturday, April 18th. The exact location will be revealed only to accepted participants, for everyone’s safety and comfort.

Applications are due on Tuesday, March 10th. We will notify accepted participants on Tuesday, March 17th.

Who should apply: Speak Up! is for current and former sex workers only. We want to support people who have an interest in media but don’t necessarily have experience - so if you’re ready to tackle media but don’t know the difference between an op-ed and a letter to the editor, please apply. More experienced media mavens are encouraged to apply as well, but media experience is NOT a prerequisite.

We are unable to defray travel costs beyond the $50 stipend that we’re offering for attending the workshop, but if you are planning to travel to NYC for the workshop from a distance we are able to offer free housing to a small number of people.

We are planning on future workshops in other cities, so if this seems like it would be good for your community, please get in touch!
